Poster POS Loyalty Integration: Automated Bonuses, Stamp Cards & Digital Wallets for Cafés and Restaurants

Published: May 12, 2026

Why Poster's built-in loyalty rarely scales with the business

Poster is one of the most widely used POS systems in Ukraine for cafés, bars, restaurants, bakeries, and small retail. It ships with a strong cashier module, inventory, finance, and a marketplace. Its built-in loyalty handles discount cards and a simple bonus account, which is enough for the first stage but not for growth.

Poster doesn't issue Apple Wallet or Google Wallet cards, doesn't push notifications about stamp progress, doesn't run happy-hours coupons, has no referral mechanic, and offers no behavioural RFM segmentation. In HoReCa, retaining a customer is 5× cheaper than acquiring a new one. Yet without the right tools, returning visitors quietly drop off.

Rimbo plugs that gap: a full loyalty stack on top of Poster, with no double bookkeeping and no changes to the cashier's daily workflow.

How the Rimbo × Poster integration works

Connection runs through the official Poster Marketplace: click 'Install', authorize, and Rimbo receives an access token. Then drop Rimbo's webhook URL into the app settings inside Poster, and the two-way sync goes live.

When a cashier closes a check in Poster, the system sends Rimbo a `transaction.added` event signed with MD5. Rimbo verifies the signature, finds the customer (via a pre-created terminal intent or the `client_id` field), accrues bonuses, adds a stamp, and updates the customer's Apple/Google Wallet card.

If the check is later edited, `transaction.changed` fires and Rimbo auto-adjusts bonuses by the delta. If the check is removed, `transaction.removed` rolls every accrual and stamp back. No end-of-shift reconciliation required.

Every Rimbo loyalty mechanic that plugs into Poster

Connecting Poster activates every Rimbo mechanic at once, with no extra setup:

• Bonuses (🪙): percent-of-spend accrual on every closed check, with flexible expiry.

• Cashback: the same engine reframed as 'money back', friendlier for retail and cafés.

• Stamp cards: 'N purchases = a reward', auto-incremented after every closed check.

• Personal discounts: per-customer percentages, applied before payment.

• Special discounts: time-windowed promotions that override personal and tier discounts (priority: special > personal > level).

• Loyalty tiers: levels unlocked by spend or visit count.

• Promocodes: single-use or campaign codes for launching new menu items or bringing dormant guests back.

• Coupons: granular rewards with happy-hours windows, per-item targeting, and bonus payouts.

• Referral program: invite-a-friend mechanics with automatic credit.

Everything lives in one customer wallet, with one push channel and one Apple/Google Wallet pass.

Real-time bonus accrual via transaction webhooks

Closing a check in Poster takes a second, and during that same second Rimbo receives a signed webhook, verifies the signature, accrues bonuses using your formula (say, 5% of the receipt total), and refreshes the customer's wallet.

Every transaction carries a unique ID, so redelivering the same event never double-credits. If the cashier's internet briefly dropped, Poster will retry the webhook and Rimbo will still process it correctly.

The event log in the Rimbo admin shows every incoming message with the signature-validity flag and the result: bonuses awarded, stamp added, rollback on a deleted check, and so on. Reconciling against Poster's books matches to the penny.

Stamp cards, coupons, and promocodes live on Poster

Stamp cards. A café sets up '10 coffees, 11th free'. After every closed check, Rimbo adds a stamp automatically. Fill the card and the customer instantly gets a push notification, while the next card starts on its own.

Coupons. Create '−25% on desserts, weekdays 15:00–17:00'. The happy-hours window activates by itself, the coupon can target specific menu items, and it can pay out extra bonuses on top. Customers open coupon details straight from the push notification.

Promocodes. Issue a code like 'PIZZA50' in an Instagram campaign. The guest enters it at the POS during the QR scan, and Rimbo applies the discount or credits bonuses instantly. Perfect for launching a new menu or reactivating long-gone visitors.

Nothing changes in the cashier's workflow: they just scan the customer's QR code.

Redeem bonuses right at the Poster terminal

The hardest part of any POS integration is letting the cashier debit bonuses before the check closes, without forcing them to open another system. Rimbo solves this with an intent: the cashier scans the customer's QR code, sees the bonus balance, and picks how many to redeem. Rimbo creates an intent linked to the current Poster order and waits for the close event.

When the cashier closes the order in Poster, the webhook arrives with the same order ID. Rimbo debits the bonuses, recomputes the 'net' amount the new accrual is based on, and adds a stamp. No duplicate entry, no support calls.

If the customer isn't yet linked to a Poster client card, no problem: during the scan Rimbo automatically finds or creates the link between the Rimbo profile and Poster's `client_id`.

Automatic reversals and adjustments on edited checks

In real-world HoReCa, checks change after they close: a wrong item, a guest refund, a manager deleting a test order. Each of those events arrives in Rimbo as its own webhook.

An amount change (`transaction.changed`) triggers a precise delta: Rimbo computes how many bonuses should have been credited at the new total, compares against what's already been issued, and writes a single transaction for the difference. Resending the same event yields zero.

A deletion (`transaction.removed`) rolls back every bonus and stamp tied to that check. The customer sees the updated balance on their wallet card, and you keep a clean ledger that matches Poster exactly.

Digital cards in Apple Wallet & Google Wallet with push updates

Instead of a plastic card, the guest adds a virtual Rimbo card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet with a single tap. The card carries the bonus balance 🪙, stamp progress, the current effective discount, and a scannable QR code for the POS.

After every closed check in Poster, the card updates on its own: the phone shows the new accrual, and Android users even get a wallet-level push.

It's a single card for every mechanic: bonuses, stamps, coupons, tiers. More on the format in our article on digital loyalty cards.

Loyalty for a café or restaurant: practical scenarios

Café. The classic 'buy 9, get the 10th free' becomes a digital stamp card. Layer cashback of 3–5% on desserts and breakfasts on top. The guest earns bonuses they can only spend on the next visit, which naturally pulls them back.

Restaurant. Introduce tiers: 'Gourmet' at ₴5 000 in cumulative receipts, 'Regular' from ₴15 000. Each tier carries its own permanent discount, and the manager can layer special promos on top for slow hours ('−20% on business lunch before 12:00').

Bar. Happy-hours coupons targeting specific menu items ('−30% on the cocktail of the week, Thursdays 19:00–21:00') flatten demand without diluting margin on the rest of the menu.

HoReCa customer retention: what changes with Rimbo

Industry studies show 30–40% of first-time café and restaurant guests never come back within 30 days. Poster's built-in stats can surface that fact, but on their own they don't fix it.

Rimbo layers in behavioural RFM segmentation: it automatically groups guests by recency, frequency, and monetary value. Each segment gets its own mechanic: VIPs receive a personal discount, new guests get a welcome bonus after their first check, and dormant guests (no checks in 60+ days) receive a time-limited reactivation coupon.

Push notifications hit precisely instead of blasting the entire base by SMS, so return conversion is meaningfully higher and the guest never feels spammed.

Digital stamp cards vs paper in HoReCa

A paper café stamp card lasts on average 3 weeks: left at home, soaked in coffee, lost in another bag. Digital stamp cards drive up to 25% more repeat visits, purely because the guest always has the card in their phone's wallet.

On top of that you get what paper can't deliver at all: full analytics (stamps issued, stamps redeemed, average return cycle), instant push notifications about progress, and a card that can't be forged or transferred.

For a Poster-powered venue, every closed check turns into a live marketing touchpoint instead of just a row in the journal.

Bonuses, cashback, or discounts: what works for cafés and restaurants

A flat discount is the simplest tool and also the most expensive: you bleed margin on every receipt, even when the guest would have visited anyway.

Bonuses (🪙) work differently: the guest earns them with every check but can only spend them on a future visit. That creates a natural pull to return and protects your cash. In HoReCa, bonuses almost always outperform flat discounts on ROI.

Cashback is the same engine wrapped in retail-friendly language, which reads well to café and shop guests. Happy-hours coupons are precision tools for filling slow hours or launching new menu items. The strongest combo: a modest tier discount + bonuses on every check + targeted off-peak coupons.

Multi-location loyalty for chains on Poster Connect

Running a chain on Poster Connect? Rimbo acts as a single bonus loop across every location. A guest who earned bonuses at your Podil café can spend them at the Pechersk venue: one balance, one Apple/Google Wallet card.

Analytics in Rimbo show both the network-wide picture and a per-location breakdown: where bonuses are accrued, where they're redeemed, average check, return rate per venue. Group admins can have roles limited to specific locations.

Coupons and promocodes can target the whole chain or a hand-picked subset, which is handy for piloting a campaign in one location before rolling out.

How Rimbo differs from inCust, UDS, and Boomerangme on Poster

inCust is a heavy CRM suite: powerful, but it needs a long onboarding and an integrator partner to configure the basics. Rimbo turns on in 5 minutes through the marketplace, with no IT partner needed.

UDS pushes its own consumer mobile app that you have to convince the guest to install. Rimbo skips that friction entirely, because the card lives in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, which the guest already has on their phone.

Boomerangme is focused on stamp cards in a single UI language. Rimbo ships Ukrainian and English out of the box, and on top of stamps it gives you bonuses, cashback, tiers, coupons, promocodes, and a referral program in one bundle.

If you're already on one of these, migrating isn't hard: we import your customer base and bonus balances into Rimbo, preserving the historical link to `client_id` in Poster.

5-step setup

1. Open Rimbo → Integrations → Poster and click 'Connect via Marketplace'.

2. In the Poster Marketplace install the Rimbo app and authorize, and Poster returns the access token automatically.

3. Confirm the account ID and access token appear in Rimbo. Click 'Test connection' and Rimbo will ping Poster's API and report the status.

4. Copy the webhook URL from Rimbo (it's shown right after the config is saved).

5. In the Rimbo app settings inside the Poster admin, paste that URL into the webhook field and save. Done: the next closed check will reach Rimbo automatically.

The full flow takes 5 minutes. The Poster loyalty card (if you run one) syncs balances with the Rimbo bonus wallet automatically.

Security, GDPR, and ownership of customer data

The Poster access token is stored encrypted and only used by the Rimbo server, so it never reaches the browser. Webhooks are signed with Poster's global application_secret, which Rimbo verifies with an MD5 signature on every request: invalid events are rejected immediately.

You can disconnect or fully remove the integration at any time, and Rimbo then drops the token and stops listening to webhooks.

Customer data is yours. Rimbo processes it as a data processor under your agreement with the customer, in line with GDPR and Ukrainian personal-data law. Customer bases never mix between companies, and you can export your data whenever you need.
